mounting the swingarm was not too rough of a task. As you may have already noticed the newer sportbike swingarms are much wider and a little narrower at the pivot point. To fix this I machined 2 spacer type deals made for each side of the swingarm. This allowed me to still use the factory swingarm pivot bolt. The spacers slide perfectly into each side of the swingarm. Once they are in about 3 inches they get wider and act as spacers to widen the pivot area so it fits snugly into the frame. Directly through these spacers is a hole drilled out so the pivot bolt will slide right through them. No major modifications to the frame were necessary but as you can see it has been shortened just a tad;) . If you plan on doing this I advise bracing up the frame pretty well. The frames were designed to be safe in the STOCK form, and whenever you do any major modifying you should always have safety in mind.

PMFR does sell 530 sprockets on stock, you just have to call and ask for that size. Not much information is given on the site but the people on the phone are very helpful and seem to know what they are talking about. They cost about $80, not too expensive and a great product. I believe the sizes they carry on stock are 16T-18T.
Wow. Not only an AWESOME project, but I feel better that I'm not the only one hacking up an old KZ. I am curious... What modifications were necessary to use the GSXR swingarm?
I noticed the offset cogs, but did you need to cut on the frame? Details, please!

Alright, sorry everyone for the huge delay in posting updates. I have been very busy with my summer job, and now in my first semester at college. The bike is done for the most part and a blast to ride. Here are a few updated pics.

This is definately my favorite angle. It just looks kinda cool with the fat tire, kz plate, and the motor and pods sticking out poth sides.

Also, here is a picture of me riding it through our hot august nights car show. One of only a handful of bikes there that were not V-turds i mean v twins, and those that werent were sportbikes. For the first time in my life i had people come up to me and compliment me on my bike. It is a great feeling to have everyone stop and look at my bike made with a little money, skill, and alot of time(most were trying to figure out what it even was) and walk on buy the gaudy chrome choppers as if they werent even there. There is no prizes as it is a free event, but i was one of 30 people who were invited to a car and bike show in Sioux City Iowa. This makes all of the hard work and broken knuckles worth it and much more.

Earlier i posted about how I began to run out of fuel when running it hard from a stop. I knew i needed to somehow get more alot more fuel to the carbs and a pingel was a little out of my price range at that time. So after a stop at the local autozone, some drilling, and a little creativity here is what i came up with.
Since i no longer needed my low fuel indicator, I removed all the hardware, drilled a hole through it, and fit it with a fuel nipple removed from an old petcock. I ran this to a fuel shutoff, and then to a t connector which is also connected to the original petcock. This setup may looked rigged to gether but it works very well. I will eventually get a pingel, but for now this works just fine.
Also, after fitting the 5/8" offset sprocket i ran into a few issues with the clutch/sprocket cover. The chain was out too far not allowing the cover to bolt on. I ground down the support bars and tried again. This time it bolted on all the way but the chain rubbed violently on the back of the cover. A little bit of cutting ended up with this result. It works great, and looks kinda cool being able to see the sprocket.
