kz 810 streetfighter! 78, 81, 04 new pics

This project began life as a 1978 kz650. A friend of mine bought it cheap from a guy who had it sitting in a barn. Some parts were used off of it, and then it was once againg placed in a barn to remain for the rest of its miserable life. I saw this and took advantage of it. The frame was stripped down, cut up, then reinforced. I was going for the streetfighter look, so it underwent a few frame modifications.

I then turned my focus to the motor. I decided to use an 81 kz750 motor I had laying around as the powerplant. It was taken apart, and fitted with wiseco 810cc forged pistons, ported gpz head, and gpz cams.

To accomplish the streetfighter look, I am using a 2004 gsxr 1000 swingarm, monoshock, wheel, brakes, etc. I am going to use the tank off of my other kz because i recently had it painted and love how it turned out. Here are some pics!

Most of this work was done in my high school shop. We don't have an auto teacher anymore, so I am taking it independently under the supervision of the woodworking teacher, and this is my project.

Update: Got a rear axle now, back end is done just have to align chain. Wiring harness is a work in progress

sorry about the long modify,

As can be seen in a few of the pics, I made my own inner fender deal, and cut out the letters KZ with the schools plasma cam(really cool machine if you ever get the chance to use one). The plan is to tack some steel mesh behind the letters, and the area behind the inner fender will house my brake light, so whenever you apply the brake the letters kz will appearB)
