Slick Rick, Nice Ride. I just bought a 1999 KZP and I want to do what you did, but I don't have a clue where or how to start. Could you help me out with any info please. My name is Willie and I live in Austin. Thanks

As for your project, i'm not gonna make like i know kaw's in general, but there's great guys on here that can help with pretty much anything. I'm amazed how well they know so many bikes! I know my kz pretty well by now, and i'll know the engine once i get to that.
i'm an aeronautical engineer that loves fabricating so on those lines i can most likely help you, and i've photographed every step i've taken so far, ask and ye shall recieve:)
So what's yous look like and what are you thinkin?
Oh, i'm in South Africa:)

This is a real design and style project. While I am a big fan of stock restorations, I have to admit this project really talks to me. Just from the side view I'd vote for the screen. But the front view could make or break it.
By the way, I've been in Pretoria and Joberg... where are you?
Best of success.

Thanks! It talks to me day and night, frankly it won't fkn shut up, as i go on i find better/nicer things to do, not to mention troubleshooting the logistics of it all.
The scrren i think will make it, esp with the headlight i'm fitting. I'll make screen from scratch, modifying and changing what i need to, so i'll make sure it works with the whole look. But it'll be very similar to the buells and ducati's.

"Howsit"! Yay, I've been on that stretch of road. Lots of high tech and brand name businesses... and cell phone towers disguised as palm trees.
I think I remember the mint being there too... with the museum and all the gold Kruger Rands. I got a coin for each of my sons.
Monte Casino was my favourite and where I felt safest because everyone has to check there guns on the way in. I didn’t gamble there but I took in a few movies and restaurants.
Keep us up to date. Best of success.

Hey there guys, i'm back after a spill with a broken shoulder, but i've done a littlew more and all fabrication is now done. Time to strip her down and paint.
So here's a photoshop version of my vision....it'll be matt black tinz with all the detailing and frame in a deep metallic blue.
Let me know what you think...
thanks..
Here's a link to a better res pic, step back from the monitor....
