Well, unlike the name, this is not a Z1R, but one day....
This is a 78 KZ 1000 A2 with a 79 LTD motor. It has a small kit(1040), a set of Andrew's cams(1X), 29 smooth bores, Pingle gas valve, and some other little goodies. chrome allen head kit for the engine, Speigler braided brake lines, new rubber, new chrome vance and hines header, polished engine covers, and some new black paint where it is needed. Have to put the front fender on, the new brake hoses and front calipers and paint the bike. Going with Tangerine orange and some simple black pinstripes of some sort, will figure that out at the time. it has been a great year working on it and I am enjoying the outcome greatly. When she is finished up and I give her a long over due bath i will snap some more pics and post them

Thank you sir, but this is the right set up(along with the sissy bar I purposely didnt mention) for riding with the wife. The only time she will see a good twist on the right handlebar is at Kil Kare, and I will pretty much being going straight down the way at that point so no worries.
BTW, I have been a member for a few years actually, just couldnt find my other log in name and password so I rejoined with this one a year ago or so. I also just happen to be Melvis' brother.

Well, thought I would give a bit of an update.
Got the front brake lines and and the brakes bleed, the NOS front fender(went with the full front style fender with forktube struts) and decided that the blue needed changed. So here is a few pics of what I got so far. Tangerine orange!!!!! Tank is being buffed out by a friend who is great with paint. Here are the side covers and duck tail after being sanded out with 1000 grit. Will do the final buffing and poloshing over the weekend and try to get more picks of the bodywork on the bike. I also got the vinyl tank and side cover lettering. Should be ready for Quaker State and Lube next thursday!

Just to add a little something here...
Paul always thought he was Bo Duke. He even broke his arm as a kid trying to climb through the window of dad's old Torino. I guess that's where the orange came from
