Say hello to my newly acquired '76 z750 Twin! Brought her home from Sweden last night, and boy am I proud! Sure, she needs a lot of work, but I'm ready for it.

Be back with the details later...

Nice score. Looks to be in sweet condition. Interesting seat cover.

(...thinking, "Awwwright! Another 750 Twin target of opportunity!" since we've chopped Steell's into everything from a shop vac to an air compressor...)

Interesting seat cover.
Yeah, I've got to get me a new one... A black one that is. I think the white was somewhat popular over here in Europe. I've seen a lot of Swedish and German bikes with white seat covers.

Is ebay the only alternative for getting a new black seatcover?

Here are the details as promised.
  1. 49,000 km
  2. Mechanically, she is is 100%. Everything works, and I mean everything!
  3. Has a flake paint job from the early eighties. Doesn't look too goood, and probably never did if you ask me...
  4. Clutch cover has been repaired around the sight glass. Will be replaced
  5. A couple of broken fins on both the head and the cylinder block
  6. A bit of surface rust here and there...

In other words, she's been well taken care of mechanically, but perhaps a bit neglected cosmetically. Nothing that can't be taken care of with time (and money...) It may take a while to get her to shine like she should, but that's more than half the fun, isn't it? I've never been much of a mechanic though, but I'm damn good at replacing parts :P.

Here's a pic of the flake paint...
