Hello to everyone new member

Hi to all i'm Andy from england, thank you for accepting me in the forum, i have just finished a cafe racer using a kawasaki kz1000 mixed with various parts from suzuki - yamaha etc.
I have been offered a 1981 kawasaki 1000 csr a bike i have never seen in the flesh, its rusty and in bad general condition, i have tried reading for information on the bike but its very limit indeed.
i was thinking of making it into a standard kz1000 or z1000 in uk, i know i would need to weld the rear end chance swinging arm and wheel and front forks and clocks etc and i know its got a z1000j engine i just wondered if anyone has done similar or knows anything about doing this please.
If not it will be another cafe racer project. picture of my cafe racer as well.
thank you for reading regardsAndy

Hi Andy,
Thank you very much for the link, was helpful i heard you could use zxr parts straight on without to much stress, i was also thinking suzuki bandit i fitted that to my kawasaki but that was a 1978 kz1000 i'm wondering if the csr is slightly different dimensionally as in gap between the frame and swinging arm, i'd also weld in fuel tank lugs on and fit a older style tank for looks i think all food for thought do you have a Z ? i also have a 1978 suzuki gs1000 i restored regards Andy
