Hello to everyone on KZRider just become a member
Have an old z400 which I got many years ago which came as a pile of parts the previous owner had took it apart what I mean is he had taken apart everything that could be taken apart including the engine then lost interest when I got it home on closer inspection found many parts had either had it or what should be present wasn't so decided to make a bobber I nearly got it finished then put a cover over the bike for the next 4 years until recently dragged the bike out and intend to get it finished this is my first bobber build and most parts are Kawasaki which has been altered in one way or the other to fit the build .

That's a beautiful bobber! IMHO bobbers either turn out fantastic or horribly wrong, yours definitely looks great.

Nice.
I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

I'm happy to see you were able to build a bike out of a pile of parts. Congrats! I always find it amazing that folks will totally disassemble a bike and then lose interest. The bike below is just one example. The owner took apart a perfectly good bike because he was going to clean up every part and then reassemble. Of course, after breaking the bike into a million pieces he lost interest and did not reassemble. Ed

Yes it is so easy to get out the spanners and start dissembling and before you know it your facing a major task of putting it all back together maybe some set out with good intentions but become overwhelmed with the task ahead then the interest is lost.

Hi thanks
Just got the wiring finished with the main loom running inside the frame which looks a lot tidier than having it on the outside glad to find all circuits function as they should after connecting up a car battery as I decided on a battery less ignition setup but still carbs or carb to fit and dial in but haven't decided on which way to go yet.

yes thanks i am pleased the way its turning out being my first project you never know how its going to once youve made that first cut i was looking for visual balance than anything else like i altered the dummy oil tank what houses the electrics 3 times before it looked right on the bike (to me ) i didnt have an ignition switch for it in the parts pile so built that into the oil tank which ignition and lighting is click turn 1 & 2 of the oil filler cap which actually is a 2 stage rotary switch.
