Welcome to KZR...there are a few members here who have 1100Rs...I see that you have posted looking for a front fender...a rare piece as it was only on that model (but I suppose you knew that :) )

Thanks for the Welcome SWest, The only pic's I have are from before the restoration that I started 1998-2000, the project got put on hold, been bugging me for years that I never finished it! the Bike has been with a friend in his Garage on the Isle of Wight, thanks to him protecting it with a preserving grease its still much like it was, (half restored rolling chassis with engine left to do).
He is digging it out this Saturday and I will soon arrange transporting it back again to Wiltshire. although my bike hasn't moved on much Photography has so I will post pictures of the project soon with now digital camera (they weren't around much 1998) God its been that long. Cant wait to now to finish the bike. so excited!!!

Thanks for the welcome Mcdroid, I had noticed there are others with Z1100R's, I hope to get some advice from them soon. Yes you are right, I have noticed the availability problem with Mudguards. there is a brand new KZ1100 one for sale in the USA! But I believe its for a 19 inch wheel, although it looks identical to the Z1000R it wont fit a Z1100R as my bike has 18 inch wheel. the best answer I can think of is buy the one for GPZ/KZ1100 and have a metal worker reshape it with a smaller curve to fit! this is the best answer I can think of at this time as I'm trying to keep the look as close as I can to original. Hopefully some one will read this and take pity and dig one out of there shed, or someone with a spare one.... lol. but I doubt that will happen, they like Rocking Horse Stuff. this is the main part that got lost.

Nicely saved bike Like i said on the other post. The front fenders are identical in curvature(beleive it or not)to the fender used on the 19 inch wheels. The only difference of the 19 inch is the mounting brace has large holes in it and the 1100R did not have those holes. If using the 19 inch fender you will only have to relocate the mounting holes by a half an inch. If really picky have a welder fill the large holes to look like the 1100R Fender

Thanks for the info Barney, that's a great relief not to have to change the curvature. My bike as you know had a solid mounting plate from fender to mudguard. the Earlier Z1000R/GPZ1100 had a Y shaped mounting plate with the 4 holes each side. Small difference really. I will do as you say and fill any mounting holes that are not used and keep the (Large holes) and re drill for correct mounting. I cant wait to get the bike here and start to look at what else needs doing, it was about half way to a concourse restoration when I last worked on it around 2000. I apologise in advance there will probably be a few more questions for you in a few weeks.
Thanks again, You have been really helpful.

Just an update on the Fender Barney, I have just ordered one from the USA, your info on Curvature and mounting holes was very useful , Kawasaki NOS NEW 35001-1030-B1 Red Front Fender KZ KZ1100 GPz 1981-82.
it is New, so will require minimal work, re-spray and mounting hole adjustment. It worked out quiet expensive 275 US Dollars, and there will probably be import taxes too.
The bike is worth it, this is the biggest thing I am missing.
Thanks again.
