Actually it does! However I cannot mount it as there's nothing holding it at the bottom. The top ones have 2 screws.

Should there be a bracket or something as the fairing has 2 holes at the bottom. If so, what is this 'bracket' called?

Thanks.

Contact member Taildrag15X as he fabricates (and sells) the lower bracket (and does quality work).

Can't say I like the longer "euro" rear fender, but I'd rather have that than what some people do by chopping off the rear fender entirely. I can't stand that look.

I agree on not chopping fenders. Finding a short USA fender or a tail tidy/fender eliminator and filling the hole with your own molded plastic piece.
Cutting up anything on these old bikes just makes it harder to find those often hacked parts.
The long fender sure keeps it true to the country it came from!
I saved my fender and filled the hole.

i took the GPZ for commute today. In heavy traffic it's running really well, unlike the GPZ900R which always seems overheating albeit the radiator!

I smelled oil and noticed that due to the use of pod filters, the crankcase breather goes nowhere. I've been thinking about putting back the stock airbox and carb jetting and this is more incentive to do so.

Hi! late to the thread but welcome to the R1 madness.

That looks like a nice project. Mine has been fun and I have 3 threads about it. I'm doing a bit of a resto-mod. The end of the 2nd thread ends with it being a victim of a minor crash that will require a complete engine teardown. The third thread is an intro to that process.

Mine didn't have a fairing on it when I got it either. Instead of finding the unobtainium I changed out the square headlight for a round one off a Spectre which I think looks much better I also like the fenderless look but it does make a mess. I'm planning on fabricating a swingarm-mounted one with a matching chain guard by the time I'm done again.

Apparently, none of the pics I've posted are visible right now. At least not to me. You can click on the link in my sig to see if you can see anything in any of the threads.

Heres some reloaded pics.
