Newbie in North Carolina
18 Feb 2017 15:57
I have wanted to build a cafe racer for many years but never seriously looked for a suitable bike.
After my brother and I went to last years Barber Vintage festival the desire to get a project going got stronger.
He beat me to the start by getting his own KZ550 a little while ago and is "happily" working on the tear down and rebuild in Fla.
I recently found a basket case 1980 KZ550 LTD that needed a new home so I made the purchase.
This one has potential but will require a bunch of work.
So while I contemplate what the final design will be I'll go ahead and begin striping it down to the frame .
The forum seems to have a lot of information and good members that will be an excellent resource.
Y'all ride safe.

Welcome from neighboring GA.
The LTDs usually require a lot of work to get the café look but it can be done.
