Hello gentlemen.

My name is Linus and I'm from Sweden. I just recently bought a Kawazaki and found this amazing forum.

The bike is a pretty shoddy red 1981 z500. It's getting cut and painted into a café racer. This is my first bike project so I will surely ask for some help along the way. When I've collected some more pictures and made some more progress, I'll create a project thread.

Here's a picture for now:

Looks can be and really are deceiving. Both the tank and front fender have been painted with a paintbrush. There's lots of surface rust on the frame cleverly hidden by some new black paint that's chipping off. There's really not a market for these bikes in Sweden, if it was a 650+ I wouldn't cut it up like this though. :)

Welcome, who are you calling gentlemen? I work for a living.

It's nice to see another representative from Scandinavia. I'll try not to use words that are too fancy.

We have many members from northern Europe and the UK here as well. I'm sure they'll be very helpful in sourcing parts.

Welcome to the asylum :silly:
Be warned, you have begun an addiction for which there is no cure. It will suck up all your time and take over all your space. There are not enough krona in all the kingdom to buy all performance parts and shiny farkles that your addiction will demand. During those long dark weeks while you await the next overdue shipment of parts you may find yourself squatting in a quiet corner eating cold lutefisk and chanting ancient Japanese prayers in an obscure Norse dialect. Your friends will shun you and your family will search for a therapist, but it will all be in vain.

That's the spirit! I was posting a week or so ago with 2 of your countrymen, scubaanders and SWEKZ, and apparently tripped them up a bit with some slightly obscure vocabulary.

Haha, I feel perfectly fine. I don't have an addiction, bike parts are natural objects in every mans bed.

That's sad really. If english is not your native language, you always need to explore new words to evolve.

Agree on the music part, we have some awesome metal acts. Swedish porn though, is very cheesy at least for me. Visually pleasing, yes, but that's about it. And porn without any sound sucks.
