Greetings, I am a proud new owner of an '82 550 LTD that I aquired from my fathe-in-law. It's in pretty good shape for a 34 year old bike. Very little pitting, chrome is in good shape, paint is in good shape except for the tank that has a few deep scratches. Best of all, it only has 3800 miles on it. My quetion is, would it be a crime to cut it up? It's a great survivor but, at the risk of insulting some, I don't think the LTD's are all that disirable. Of all the '80's Japanesse cruisers, the 550 LTD's were not exactly at the top of the list. What do you all think?

Welcome aboard! 3800 miles? Good grief, it isn't even broken in yet! Regarding cutting it up - they're only stock once and they lose value as soon as they are cut. However, please post some pictures because if it already has been modded some it probably doesn't matter much if you cut it. Ed

Welcome John.

It's your bike, do what you want.
Just try not to make changes that will make the bike unsafe.
