Hello all,

I would like to introduce myself. I am not much of a poster, but I have lurked around long enough to get some good information that I felt I could also help others with my limited knowledge.

I have a 1979 KZ650SR (D2). Its my first bike and has been my slow project for the last year. Currently working on some engine issues after an unfortunate mishap of running it low on oil. I am also in the process of re-painting the tank and fenders.

I have since re built my rear fender for LED tail lights.

Just want to say. Thank you for the tips and tricks and hope to add more pics as I make progress on this beast.

No, we stripped all the paint down to bare metal then polished it up a bit. Looks good from a distance, but started rusting pretty quick.

Wow! That's some polishing. You can see the clouds in the sky in the reflection; looks as chromey as the front fender. LOL
