Newbie, Inherited my first bike
04 Mar 2016 19:54
Hi guys, After much searching this seems to be the place to find all the info I could ever need on getting my bike running. I recently inherited a bike after my dad passed away and I want to get it back into running shape. The bike has been sitting for about 12 years so Ive been doing a lot of reading and what I could to see just what kind of shape it is in. I have never owned a motorcycle before so a lot of this is new to me. I just took a motorcycle safety course and got my license last year and was planning on getting a bike this summer until I received this one. I have cleaned out the gas tank, cleaned the carbs, wires, plugs, oil change so far. I am running into a few problems but I will post those in the appropriate areas later on. Anyways, just wanted to tell a little bit about my bike and say hello.

Welcome, It looks like it had a Vetter kit on it. The faring was too heavy for me so I got a windshield. You have a nice start.

First thing I did was remove the faring haha. Didn't like the way it looked. Just too bulky. I like the windshield you have on there. I will probably invest in one once its running.

I had pull backs like that for years. Thought it would help my back. It didn't. I like the ones I have on there now. I can lean back or tuck in if I need to. Keep the pics coming.
