New KZ Owner From MO,USA
04 Feb 2016 06:40
Hey Guys, I just joined the forum. I just bought a bike after going without for about 6 years. New to owning an older bike so I am sure I will have a ton of questions. I bought a 1977 kz650 at a very good price. The bike has a little over 20k original miles on it and runs like a champ....so far. The bike has some modifications done to it. Drag bars, Ducatti tail light, and a rear tire that looks like there is no way it should have fit (love it though). Ill post some pictures of it and I also plan on starting a couple threads with questions about some mods I had in mind. Thanks in advance for all the help and I hope to get to know you all

Welcome in!
Looks like a nice little 650 you got yourself.
Where in Missouri are you?
Later, Doug

Welcome aboard! Someone definitely has replaced the original rear wheel and brake rotor with ones from a later model KZ650. In fact, it looks to me like they installed a 16" rear wheel in place of the stock 18" wheel.
Hopefully you will be able to buy a decent exhaust system to replace the mess that the previous owner made of the stock system. The good news is that he didn't remove the airbox. Ed

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI am from the springfield missouri area. Yeah the exhaust is in pretty bad shape. I'm planning on using a full exhaust from a zr7. Might actually buy this one tonight

The more you ride it, the nicer youll want it, as you park it and walk away. My daughter lives in Camdenton, and Ive a few friends in springfield.

That's kinda how I'm already feeling. First on the list is exhaust and then finding some side covers

Welcome to KZR.
You looking for side covers? I have a few spare.
If you can't find something reasonable down South, let me know and I'm sure we can work something out.
