New member from N Georgia

Hey Guys i have been on here for a week or so but I didn't take the time to Introduce my self.
I been reading the forum and I love it!! Info is awesome and you all seem to be great guys.
I even had a member send me a part for free!! I told him ill be sure to pay it forward and I will.
A little history.
Im 50 now and i rode and worked on motorcycles back in the 80s ..
had a 1971 Z1 900 that we built literally from pieces. I've also owned a couple of KZ 650s ,a KZ 440 LTD My favorite was a 1979 KZ1000 ST and rode almost everything that was out there in the mid 80s because i worked at Honda-Kawaski dealership. and most of my freinds rode.
My ST got wreaked by a guy I never should have let ride and Then my life took a tun with marriage,kids work ect and I didn't ride for 20+ years.
Now my children are all grown and I found a 1980 KZ1000 Shaft on craigs list in November.
Let me tell yall its good to be riding again!!!
I have the tank in the paint shop now because of some scratches but he told me to come get it friday so ill be posting some better pics..(it is my avatar now)
Been slowly doing much needed work on it:
Adjusted valves, carb work, brake work (front and rear) and all around general maintenance yall know.. tighten this ,adjust that ,search the world over for nearly un find able parts..lol..but its coming together well.

Welcome. You must mean one of the first Z1's that came out in 72/73. Got it about kids, family etc, I just started riding again at 59 after 15 years. Got me out of the duldrums. Yes, pics need pics. :woohoo:

I thought it was a 71 but this was in the 80s and I was in my early 20s.. didnt care much about the actual year so It may have been a 72.. I remember it was a mean mother on the holeshots!!!

My boss had a 73, Larry had a 74, I had a 75 and Jim I had a 76 KZ 900. Top of the food chain back then

Was doing a search and found this video the guy i got the bike from had posted when he put on the exhaust.
A few things are different now.
The chrome trim around the tank is gone
The engine guards and oil cooler are gone.
I replaced the stock master cylinder with a Shindy
One of the best thing i did was toss those ugly unusable handle bar mirrors and went back with the stock ones.
