28 Dec 2015 23:26 - 28 Dec 2015 23:30
Hi all!
My name is Riccardo, I'm the happy owner of this '84 GPZ 550 where lot of things have been changed to improve drivability an safety
, just found this amazing forum searching for some technical info about the engine and gearbox since I'll soon need to rebuild it...
I'll be posting some questions very soon for you experienced kz owners!
I attach some pics of my customized bike on a great tour on the Alps this summer!

Thanks for the welcome!
the bike is a 1984 GPZ 550 with stock engine, carbs and silencers, only mods on the engine are pod filters and exhaust wrapping, more for aesthetics than performance....
biggest modifications are on the front where I fitted an Aprilia RSV1000 upside-down fork and brembo brakes with custom made disc holders, this really gives a plus to the bike in driving it as the snap-on handlebars do
the tank is from a Z500 as the rear tail that has been shortened... front light is from a Yamaha MT09 modern bike, but I'll change it soon to some more ''classic''...
in next months I'll completely dismantle it to repaint the frame that need some welding and rebuild the engine since both the gearbox and the valves need some maintenance!
I'm also thinking on some upgrade for the rear swingarm and for the engine, but laws are very tight here about modification....
