Got to come clean here. Been hanging out for a few months and I'm still recovering
from being kzeed. Still can't believe it. It's been a few weeks but now the new owner of a '81 kz1000m. I'm a seventies kid, this is just too much to go into right now. I was thinking about what to say, and the main idea that kept popping to mind was the dmv, although in my mind I was thinking the DMZ  If any of you happen over to the rockies, Colorado area, need to transfer papers, titles, licensing, etc, have patience, you will need every ounce of it. Sure enough, the dire situation there has recently made headlines.
Have to sober up a bit. Put on 1200+ miles of city driving since new ownership, and that's before tune ups  I mean with only 6600 miles on it at the time and just a few leaks how bad can it be... yea, another money pit oh no... Thankfully, the bike is completely stock, and that is where she will remain.
Will update my profile and maybe who knows talk some z.

Welcome to the asylum! As you may already know, many of the inmates here are pic addicts. If they do not get regular doses, they get restless and hard to control :silly:

Thanks you guys. I'm over here in the summer lake down by cherry creek. Have my hands full at the moment. Going to try to get this bike running like it should when I can find the time to work on it. Hard to do right now. The sunsets we're having are so perfect for riding.

After all that and there's still no idle  when cold but once warmed up it's fine. 2.6k miles later in about a month I think this has met and exceeded all expectations.

81 was when the baby bro was born. The 250cc (1/4 z) was our first big boy bike. 15c.i. (250cc) modified small blocks was the sleeper. Stacked 250s feight trained in bike frame (1/2 z). Kid's name is Z. 4x15 = dual freight 15c.i. trains= kz1000= Rounding that circle. And now no frill licensed to thrill. Did I mention the bike is all stock Not a single cam bolt stripped

Got it:
Idles as it should
Suspension front and back new, carbs rebuilt/ synched, valves set, new top end gaskets and oil seals. New filters, air box, snorkel/ boots, plugs. Steering set, brakes and chain cleaned and in very good condition. Tires are great. Idles fine. Runs like a dream. Only thing missing is a warm day and a friggin sales pitch
