That would have been a funny crack. You might have taken offence though. :whistle: Start with the carbs. If it hasn't been molested by the PO, it should be a good bike.

Update time!
I took delivery of the bike saturday. On the same say i tore apart the carbs and cleaned everything, drained and replaced the brake fluid, changed the oil. Today i got out to home depot and got a 27 mm wrench, then tightened up the chain.

The bike runs great, looks great and feels great. Aside from a few scratches and alot of road gunk under the engine, the buke is in excellent shape. Two of the float nedles need replacement to stop a slow carb leak (ordered yesterday) but otherwise the bike is great. I have not gotten plates for it yet due to a disagreement with the NJMVC (the worst of all government agencies) but hope to tomorrow. The only real issue i have noticed is that when i inspected the fork, there was no air in it at all. I added some with a shock pump to factory spec, but it has a slow leak and i doubt it will hold for long. Rebuilding it is probably going to be my next project.

Some pics to follow include: the coffee colored brake fluid i replaced, original owners manual with warranty card (score), and one overall shot.

Tightened up the chain? I hope you followed the Kawasaki Service Manual instructions. You absolutely MUST leave the correct amount of slack in the chain or you will very quickly destroy the chain and sprockets. How much slack did you leave? Ed

I can attest to that. I got in a hurry, tightened it to much and had to stop to do it again. PITA on the side of the road in the desert.
