I started riding dirt bikes when I was 13 and and the first time I rode a friends SL100 Honda I knew I was hooked. Fast forward to 1976 when a kid I knew from high school pulled up alongside me on my Honda SL350 and him on a brand new green KZ900. We looked at each other and then pinned the throttles Well needless to say I had never seen anything like it and two weeks later I owned one. Been hooked on the big K ever since. I currently own a 1981 GPZ1100 that I finished a bare frame resto on last year. This bike now looks like an 1982 Eddie Lawson replica clone. The next Kaw I own is a 1982 KZ1000J that was also a bare frame resto about 15 years ago. This Bike has mostly 1981 GPZ1100 parts account I had a GPZ parts bike including the motor that was in better shape then the J stuff. Thats it in the upper corner. No I'm not trying to fool anyone about what these bikes really are as I don't care what there worth. I have had a few other Hondas Including a 1982 CB900F and a CBR1100XX that was stupid fast but my true love is still Kawasaki. Dont be mad at me as I am currently working on a 1978 CB550 that is being turned into a cafe racer. Was looking for a KZ650 for this project and this Honda turned up an was to good and to cheap to pass up. Not real good with computers so I'll try not to mess up to much. Thanks Dan

Welcome. I started on a Sears All State at 16. At 18 I got tired os being drenched by cars going to work on my ten speed in the rain. I found a 73 Honda CL 350. Me and the bike went everywhere. To the desert where I live now, to a favorite spot in the Malibu mountains with a Tuna Melt, two beers and a thatch of pine trees planted by Forestry. That was my week end. Then came the Z1b 900. Yeah, I rode other bikes while deciding what to buy next, the Honda 750 was clunky and slow, the H2 750 was wicked fast and scary, after riding a four, I was hooked. My boss and best friend had Z1's, so to ride with them, I had to have one too. Never regretted it. Here she is today.

Welcome, nice!
I started on a Bridgestone 200 with the rotary shift! Anyone remember those? LOL
Moved on to a 1978 KZ400,
Still have my 1980 KZ750E1 which is now my main bike.
Had a ZRX1200R for about 5 years but sold.

Love the GPZ's, Z1's and basically all KZ's.!

So the old Rocker gets out his bike to make a ton before he takes his leave. Up on the A1 by Scotch Corner
just like it used to be. And as he flies --- tears in his eyes ---
his wind-whipped words echo the final take and he hits the trunk road doing around 120 with no room left to brake.
