Hello from a new owner in the UK was created by crofty1984
Last Wednesday I rode home on my new motorcycle purchase - a 1984 Kawasaki KZ440 Ltd.
It's a fine machine. Currently running about 20bhp, which I'm hoping to double by getting the left cylinder to join the party.
Compression is good, sparks are ok, so carbs it is!
Also needs an oil leak fixing. Oh, and mostly new electrics. The indicators and mirrors are, well, they may well be perfectly sound wherever they are, But I have no idea where that is, it's certainly nowhere near the bike!

Plan is to get it running properly and then make it into one of those new wave custom type bikes.

Just after I got her home. Flat out in top was about 60. Should be closer to 100. Also, look at those handlebars! Like pushing a chuffin' wheelbarrow.

Finally got to use my inspection pit for inspecting under a vehicle. Has oil leak from the gear selector shaft hole.

Ooh look - swanky belt drive!

Whipped the bodywork off to make plans. I like the cafe/street tracker style, but the frame's got that bit where it dips down for short arse riders (like me). You've not got that lovely straight line from headstock to brake light. Thought about trying to hide it with a new seat mount or special shaped seat, but I've decided to celebrate it instead. Will maybe cut about 2/3rds from the back and make the back bit parallel to the ground so it'd be a flat, stepped seat (I know what I mean!)

Lots of work to do, but it'll be worth it!

Welcome!

So the old Rocker gets out his bike to make a ton before he takes his leave. Up on the A1 by Scotch Corner
just like it used to be. And as he flies --- tears in his eyes ---
his wind-whipped words echo the final take and he hits the trunk road doing around 120 with no room left to brake.
