Hello from Texas

Hello to all.

I am about to undertake a project on a 1976 KZ 900. (my dad's old bike, he bought it new)
And also a restoration of a CT90 off road moped.
I am really wanting a cafe racer/fighter style bike and will probably be asking all kinds of dumb questions. I have a decent mechanical background. (I have taken apart my Italian CNC about 5 times, rebuilt spindle, all kinds of fun stuff. Sadly, it is a stone cnc, so it wont be useful in making cool stuff.)

I currently ride a 1198s Ducati, so this kz900 is just because I need a hobby/like to make stuff/think old stuff is cool.

Howdy. A 76 model is almost 40 years old, so it's already old school. :)

Hello and Welcome. My kind of bike, KZ900 of course. I'm not into the cafe thing. I am an old school drag racer.
But! you say :
(I am about to undertake a project on a 1976 KZ 900. (my dad's old bike, he bought it new)
Guys on this site like to preserve original bikes 1st, before they chop em up.
Do you have any pictures of the shape now?
Did your Dad save the old parts?
But it's your, do whatever you want. I like making parts and cutting up frames and welding them back too.
Plus I hated chrome fenders! they are for bicycles! I always painted the fenders on my bikes over the years.
Good Luck.
Merry Christmas! Maybe Santa will give you a $10,000 gift certificate for "Z1enterprises" :woohoo:

The first things people look at is the front fender, the tank, engine and seat. Then the tires and all the other goodies.
