Nice looking bike Hemified! The 76's are great bikes, as you have come to find out. Becareful, they grow on you and take over your soul, LOL. Things looks pretty close to stock, other than the obivious things like turn signals and aftermarket exhaust (but still period appropriate). The only oddball change I see is with the rear shock mounting. Looks like they are mounted further back on the bottom mount than what is stock mounting. But the swing arm looks to be stock lenght??? Anyhow, no big deal as long as it all works. Have fun with her.

100/90-19 is good for the front BUT 130/80-18 is not a good choice for the rear. My bike has the same size wheels as yours. I ran 130 tires for years on the rear, but I found that they are too wide for the stock rim (and the 80 profile is too low). This causes them to be pinched in at the rim which deforms their profile and contact patch with the road (not to mention they're hard to mount). I switched to 120/90-18 tires for the rear and found they handle every bit as well if not better than the 130 tires. I use Pirelli Sport Demons and love them. Ronayers.com usually has them at fair prices. Here's what they look like. Ed

Thanks KZJOE900, yes I did the basic changes but stayed in period.it has the original paint on it my buddy has a custom paint shop he said he might be able to get that paint looking new without a repaint. That shock deal is old school cafe lowering blocks I got off ebay.the swing arm is stock. I dropped the front down 2" so I wanted the rear to look right those blocks dropped it about 1 1/2 to 2".

You're welcome
I just checked the size and I have 120/90 -18 on the rear and have never run anything bigger. I would recommend the Bridgestone spitfire brand but Ed gives good advice on the size.

Those shock lowering blocks can can cause problems with the chain guard getting chewed up by the shock and chain, i've got a set in a box for that reason

Thanks Floivanus for the info on the rear lowering blocks was not aware of that problem. Went outside checked it out and removed them before any damage happened. Guess I will put them in a box with the rest of the original parts I have for it.Today I put the accel super coils on.thanks again :)

No problem, to drop the back end it's best to just get shorter rear shocks (all three of my 1000s are stock height though) but my 78 had them blocks on it when i bought it, chain guard pushed into chain and into the tire, newer tire was junk and so was the guard. That's how I know about that, they should be okay if you dont run a guard but then you may sling chain lube, mud/grime etc on yourself

You here any good things about the MT66 tires? I like the way they look. The demons look ok but the patern looks alittle new for the old kz.
