Hi everyone , just joined yesterday after looking at this site for about a month. I just picked up a 76 kz900 with -10k original mi. From original owner. Bike is extremly clean the only things not original are the 4 into 1 kerker and 1977 kz1000 carbs. I used to have a kz 650 when I was young and dumb always wanted a 900. Anyway been looking up about these bikes and they are pretty much still very popular I'm trying to do some documentation on it for I'm gonna ride it till it scares the hell out of me hahaha!!! Then I'm selling it. I did a few things but have all the original parts boxed up for when I sell it for the new owner. I would like to know how to break down the #'s eng# Z1E 100830. Frame# Z1F 096767 do # match ? Where was it made ? Low production? If you all could help me it wood be greatly apprecieted . Thanks Steve I will try to put a pic on

Thanks for the info on engine & frame. Much appreciated . A local guy wants it he offered me 1,300 Hundred said it isn't worth that much cause of age and very hard to get parts haha I told him I sell him a picture for 1,300 I know for a fact it's worth way more than that offer. As for the carbs there not in the pic. I sent them to Jim at Redline to have them gone thru ( btw Jim is awesome this guy knows his stuff) should get them back this week.thanks again

Nice find.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Nice score! As long as you know the Redline guys, you will be set. They build some real nice old motorcycles.
Hey the Cuda' have a Hemi?
Keep that cycle as close to stock as you can. 76 KZ drum brake rears are the new Z1 collectible bike.
Search out the parts Guy on here "Brian" " kz10006" he always amazes me with the used parts he sells.
A lot of guys have purchased from him. He is in downstate New York.
I am sure someone will chime in here and give him a plug or a post from him.
I think I went through about a dozen of them bikes in 35 years.

Livin in "CheektaVegas, NY
Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.
More room for The Old Girl, Harley 75 FLH Electra Glide,
Old faithful! Points ign. Bendix Orig. carb.
Starts everytime!

What up, Got my carbs back from Jim at Redline. Put them on with all new manifolds and clamps. Fired right up, the owner told me it hasn't ran in awhile (reg. Says 1988) after it warmed up holy crap this thing runs like a bat out of hell. It pulls extremly hard I was at 75 in no time. Jim is a master at his craft I literally did nothing just took them out of the box and followed his advice. Those old tires got alittle scary at hi speeds. Need new tires any thoughts I was told the Bridgestone BT45 130/80-18 rear and a front 100/90-19 would be wise choice. Now I know this thing is everything the original owner said it would be I think I'm gonna ride it for awhile before I sell it.Here's a couple of pics after the ride from hell hahaha
