Hi everyone - new guy here. I picked up a 76 KZ900 last weekend and will hopefully have it running by the end of the summer. I got it for free with a clean title from my cousin. Hasn't been on the road since 2002. It's been stored inside since then but it needs some cleaning up. I got a box of parts with it, I think I pretty much have everything for it. Thankfully the tank was dry when he stored it away so the inside isn't too bad. I am making a list now of the pieces I need and what I should tackle first to get it running correctly. I am excited to start working on it but not looking forward to syncing a set of 4 carbs again!

Welcome aboard!! If you don't mind, would you mention to your cousin that I'm looking for a free 1957 fuel injected Corvette? In the link below is some info that you might find helpful in working on your "new" bike. BTW, it looks like a really nice bike!! Ed

Thanks for the welcome guys - Ed, thanks for that link it is very helpful.
He doesn't have any more free stuff unfortunately, he bought a Harley about the same time this was taken off the road so I think it was just put away and pretty much forgotten.
Unfortunately the speedo is smashed, broken glass and bent up.. I will need to replace, any idea if that is a 76 only part or can I use other years to replace?

According to Kawasaki.com the following models use the same speedometer. Just be sure to check the appearance to make sure the replacement looks like the original; the later ones may have a blue ring around the perimeter (I know that's true on the KZ650 models). Ed
