Just got my 1st KZ1000LTD 1979 was created by paradigmmatrix
Just paid $1450 for this beast and was curious where do I look for parts online for it? I want to keep this beauty running strong and proud! My last bike was a Suz GS650 and this is sooo much more bike - it has 34mm Mikunis and a Bassani exhaust. Also, will the KZ1000p accessories (saddlebags in particular) mount on this model? Any info is helpful!

There are a number of primary sources on-line: look at the top of this page under vendor directory...some very reputable dealers are listed...for parts, my favorite is Z1Enterprises, but have also had good service and luck with Z1parts.net

Welcome aboard. Where to look for parts depends on the parts needed. My experience has been that the first thing to do is look at the parts diagrams on Kawasaki.com to see if the part you need is still “Active.” If it is, any local or online dealer can order it for you – there are numerous online dealers and it pays to shop around for the best price. If the part is not marked “Active” it is obsolete and you will need to look for a new old stock (NOS) part or in some extreme cases a used part. There are some pretty good sources online for finding NOS parts including some folks who buy parts inventories from motorcycle shops that close and of course eBay. If you need help finding a specific part ask on this forum. Plenty of us have experience trying to find stuff and we can often help. If you need help navigating through Kawasaki.com ask us.

On a somewhat different note, there are some things that may help you get started with maintaining your “new” bike. Take a look at the link below as you may find it helpful. Ed
