I've been riding klr650 and ktm520exc for several years and had a lot of enjoyment however, I'm looking forward to putting my time and energies into this bike and seeing how it evolves over time.
I look forward to your help and input.
I hope the picture posted.

Can't complain for free.

KZJOE900 wrote: Welcome to KZR, Don! Nice solid motorcycle to start off with. I'm just down the road from you in Inverness. I am definitely plan on attending the Leesburg Bike Fest this year with my riding group. Is the bike currently operational? What direction do you plan to take the bike?
The bike is operational aside from needing a carb cleaning due to sitting in his garage and a new battery. When he acquired the bike he disassembled it down to the frame. Sent the motor to a friend who operates a motorcycle/HD shop in Havelock,NC. The motor was disassembled and any parts needing to be replaced were. The FI prepped and repainted the frame, cut down the front fender, replaced the rear fender with a early 90's HD type, painted the fenders and tank the colors you see in the pic. The rear seat is off a VTX1300 along with the rear shocks and rear foot pegs. The head lamp is off a chopper and the speedo and tach are Drag brand name. So it's made up of 3 different bikes.
As far as direction. I've considered attempting to restore it back to a police type however I'm not sure how available used parts are and the cost. I really think I'd like to have a machine I can get on and put down 500 miles and not have numb hands (klr650), not feel totally wiped from the wind beating the body and if my wife wants to go for a ride there is plenty of HP to get that done as well. I'm scouring pics on here and the net gathering ideas. All in put is of course welcome.

She finally arrived at her new home on Tuesday evening, wohoo!
After taking a closer look at her I found loose stuff (not yet truly id'd, thinking minor rust) in the gas tank. Paint or what ever was put on the motor flaking off,and crinkled where gas has contacted it under the carbs. Minor rust on Parts of frame and bolts, etc. The main seat swivels up into a locked position exposing the blade type fuses my FI (father in law) installed and no air box. The seat covering is in good shape but the foam is shot. The rear brake pedal appears to be home made and the rear master cylinder appear out of place. Probably not the original unless the master cylinder didn't include a pneumatic switch. Their is a pull type brake light switch rigged up separately.
Well I'm running out time this morning to keep typing, so here are some pics.
As always comments, ideas and etc are very welcome.

Should be a long spring, hooked on both ends.
I'd have to compare to other Police models, or hopefully one of those owners will chime in.
Here's a buddy's C model:
Looks like the forward controls, if that is what is there, has been shortened on your bike.
Need a better picture, or Spring here, before I will see his bike again.
