I thought that's what I was seeing. My bike is on the lift right now looking into a clean setup to do just such a thing.

Thanks guys, I'm jinxed now, my steering damper broke off the frame after four years of riding AAAAAAAhhhhh. I lost the little bracket that goes to the frame itself, I don't have the money to pay for a new one so I'll have to make one.
Amazingly enough the bike handled on rough roads up to 160kph without any problems so at least I do have to worry about pushing this through.

Sucks isn't the word, I don't have access to machining at present so the old file and hacksaw will have to do.
The bracing runs through my frame, my headstem, under tank near the battery box etc, otherwise I would not be here to write to you considering my previous (getting too old to race hard now) speeds.

Wow!! great bike lots of good quaility mods. I'm fairly new here as well. I have been thinking of updating my carbs. You mentioned that, quote: ZRX1200 carbies (the best mod I had). My 1978 KZ1000A2A comes with the stock vm26 carbs. I have read about people putting smooth bores on, vm28's, CV carbs etc.
This is the first time I have heard of someone sticking on newer ZRX carbs. They look like CV carbs though in the pic. And you say this was your best mod. Is it because of performance? or ease of instalation and maintenace? or Power? How much of a difference do these carbs help?

You need to build the rest of the motor to use those big carbs to full advantage,stock motor/head and cams can only move so much air no matter what carbs you use. B)

thats right whip me while I'm down, yes MY welding was crap, I only wanted to tack it down while I drilled and tapped into the frame BUT I couldn't get behind the neck so I left it as is. Its funny but I forget about the welds until I took/ posted the photos thats when I noticed the bad welding. Then the next day it fell off....ahhhhhh
