New rider from AZ. KZ750 cafe
17 Mar 2012 23:17 - 17 Mar 2012 23:18
Hey whats up guys. Just picked up this kz750 cafe and thought I would share since I am on here getting info from time to time.
It is a 79kz750
it runs extremely well and has no real issues at the moment other than a voltage regulator issue. It is at the last owners house until Wednesday or Thurs when I can pick it up.
My plans are to just ride it for awhile and mess with it as I go. I really like the vintage look with very minor modern performance upgrades. I wont be doing anything crazy with it in the near future. I will removing the rear valance for a longer seat and I am going to strip the paint on the tank and do something different with it.
Anyways here it is

Welcome aboard. Voltage regulator is not a major issue, however, I do see 1 major problem with the bike - NO front brake! I don't know how much experience you have riding, but you need to understand that because of weight transfer the front brake provides roughly 80% of a bike's stopping power. Without it you are running a very serious risk of getting hurt or worse. Please do yourself a huge favor and put a front brake on it. We don't want ot be losing a new member. Good luck, Ed

thanks for looking out.
And I am already in the process of locating a gsxr1000 front end for dual disk stoppage.
I will probably just get a stock front brake for the time being though.

I actually have the chance to pick up a 92 gsxr750 front end. Supposedly in good condition for really cheap.
I know the gsxr front ends go on with minor modifications but the fact that it is a little older bothers me. I would rather get a newer one. 2000 and newer preferably.
Anybody have input on this?

Welcome to the whack house...
I saw this bike in Cl, nice!
Is it me or is that front tire extremely close to the exhaust header...?
Maybe that's just how these 750's were set up back then....
Bobs Motorcycle Salvage yard, off 16st & Ellwood, south of the 17...
Anyhoot, I'm in Glendale... Hook up soon in the making with a new AZ member.

Cool bike! Saw that listed on CL,too - but Mom said I can't have a third bike
Really like the white with the orange stripes. I'd be interested in knowing what your method is going to be to plug the tachometer hole.
Yeah, let's all hook up - I am in south Scottsdale.

nice.
It needed a voltage regulator because it was blowing light bulbs so the guy bought one and is installing it either today or early this week. Once he fixes it I am going to pick it up and start riding it around before it gets too hot lol.
I will get some pics up of my own and probably start a build thread soon.
