New and need a kz900 id
30 Dec 2011 18:24
Hi, New guy here. Anybody know what this bike is? It's descibed as a 76 900 ltd. I'm not so sure, but I'm also not an expert.

Another shot of the funky fairing. Comes with bags and a rack, but no pics.

Another hybrid. LTD's had cast mags, a disc in the rear, someone jacked the mags, it has the short LTD chrome fenders, it has the Jardine 4 into 2 pipes, looks like a police frontend. It has 2 drilled discs on the front. totally different gas tank.
That's for starters

Wow...what a mutt! Well...it ain't a thoroughbred. I see different motorcycles cobbled together...and the amalgam is not a KZ900B model...AKA a 900 LTD. Motor, frame, instruments appear to be a KZ900 A4/A5 model (note the drum brake rear...LTD had a disc rear brake). Shocks are aftermarket, front end is a mixture also (the LTD didn't have gators and didn't have drilled front discs)...the front calipers on an LTD were trailing and not leading, as on this bike. LTD's had a 16" rear wheel while this bike has a 18" rear wheel. Fuel tank is a KZ750L3/L4 or KZ700A1 tank. Seat is half of a 750 combo seat. Carbs appear to be VM26...which is consistent with the KZ900A4...I'm sure the list is endless

Forgot to add. He wants $900 for her. Says the carbs were cleaned so I'll assume it at least runs. Seems like a lot after what you guys say is "wrong" with her.

30 Dec 2011 19:35Beautiful! I will never understand what compels folks to hacksaw nice bikes like that and "customize" them so they look and run like crap. Maybe they never saw a bike as nice as yours. Ed
