According to
Zedder.com
that VIN corresponds with a 1977 KZ1000-A1, made in Japan.
And welcome aboard.

Thanks all for the responses, I found that on zedder too after digging a while. That's exactly what I came up with. Thank you for the welcoming! I have a VW too. The guys on the VW chat are a$$holes..uh hum...I mean, not very friendly...Don't know of George, However if it's spelled Babor, We are related. There is only one family line to my knowledge.Still don't know about the title, but I really like the bike. If I have to I'll procore another with a title....Are parts easy to get for these creatures?

Yes, parts are relatively easy to come by.
Here's where I prefer to buy new parts:
Z1enterprises.com
Z1E have or can get pretty much anything you need, have the best costumer service I have ever seen and their knowledge of vintage japanese bikes is second to none - owner Jeff Saunders is also a member here, you can trust these guys.

welcome cool score...tiles can be had to varrying degree of hassle...if the guy is cool you can get him to help by siging and you pay the fees,it may make it like he just is getting a new title, and be less hassle...there are good links on KZrider for threads about titles...somone will chime in on this i bet...he may also find it...good luck...and welcome...

You have to view my profile to see the pics. they were too high resolution for the photo gallery. Bear in mind I just got this thing....It's not too bad though. I believe this to be an old retired drag bike as you will notice the hard-tail kit, the velocity stacks, and the Vance&Hines 4 into 1 pro pipe.... It has no fire. Do you have to have the battery in it to have ignition fire? I'm itching to hear this thing!!!...And even more so to ride it. I haven't ridden a real fast bike. I had a H-D sportster(just an 883-slightly modified). However I have ridden a 1200S,sportster that is a rocket! These were special bikes though. I loved it...It's all you can do to just stay on it if you nail it in 1st...I think I'm going to have a love-affair when I finally get to ride this KZ.

Where is this shop? I am in Missouri, about 50 miles south of St.Louis.I know there are Babors on the east and west coasts.Big Al was my grandfather. Him and his brothers owned Babor Sausage Co. This was what the family did from the time they came over on the boat from Hungary. They closed them in about 1980. All the kids(My father and uncles/aunts)had no interest in the store as @ this time the supermarkets were putting delis and small shops out of business. See where George came from. I bet he has thalesemea minor...
