Well Hello!! was created by mikeo
Hi to all on the greatest website I've found to date with REAL people who talk sense about bikes.
Been around riding for too many years and have a KZ1100D1 Spectre. Love it to bits but alas about 5 years neglected her due to ill health and am now feeling so good again that she is about to be revived,
bought her in 1995, because I'd seen one in 1982 at the Dutch TT in Assen (oh oh giving my age away here!!!) and it was love at first sight. In the uk you could not get this model until a genius started importing them in the 90's.
So have assembled many parts from various places ready to start putting her back on the road, mainly the cosmetics.
Parts are difficult to come by over here but so many breakers and dealers on the web have been very helpful, only some new brake lines to aquire and the job will start.
Looking forward to picking everyone brains as I progress and promise to supply pictures when done (embarassed to post them at the moment, she looks a bit of a sorry state, English weather and paint do not go well)
regards
mike

Welcome, mikeo!
Hey, don't be shy about the 'before' pictures. We all love to see them, too.

Welcome to the forum.
We love to see how much work you put into a Bike so before and after pics are very much appreciated. It gives us "shade tree mechanics" something to shoot for.

Cheers Guys, this is really encouraging, have found a couple of photoes from when I moved house about 2months ago, had to bring her through the house to get her out!!
English weather has "eaten" the paint, the black on the cylinders, the gold from the wheels and engine casings are non existant and the green slime was everywhere. This is a bike that was covered with a waterproof and supposidly vapour resistant tarp type cover!!!!! Don't work over here. Nearly had heart failure when I lifted the cover. SO here's where we started, tank was taken off as was front mudguard prior to moving, they were in just a bad a state. (currently being resprayed)
regards

Welcome aboard.
Looks like we have another Mossbeater here (another members former bike was the Mossbeater when he started working on it)
You will definately appreciate the work youve done to it when you go back and look at the before adnd after pics of your bike.

I lnow youre exited, but why the double talk? (kidding) LOL!
I am ashamed though, I had to sell it because I am fat and it wasnt fast enough for me and my fat butt.
But I started over on another one.
its the top link in my signature KZ750E
