I just want to clean it up ...getting ahead of myself I guess.Yanked the bike up on the centerstand today ...couldnt do it by myself .......lol ...had to put the floor jack under it....drained the oil ....took he clutch cover off clutch cable was siezed...gonna loosen it up ....cant seem to get it past 1st gear could the tranny be hooped....whanna get the clutch working to mayby pop it up to high gear and slowly see if I can move the rear wheel to get the pistons unsiezed.

Ahhha thanks man lucky I didnt start tearing into the tranny so what about if its on the centerstand and ya spin the wheel guess it has to have weight on it...I want to get it up to a higher gear to try to roll the motor over and break the pistons free been soaking for a couple days.....also anywhere I can find a wiring digram online....1982 kz1000..

Soo...got a new key made ...does it only turn off and on ....then the fork lock pops out ??is that how it works ? no accesory switch...
So I hooked up a battery turned on the key and no power to the gages shouldnt the guage lights come on.Any tips on what to check .....think at least one guage light should work....

For wiring diagram, go to "Filebase" under "KZ Information"

Scroll down and select YEAR.

Scroll down and select MODEL. (A similar model often has similar wiring)

Many models have a wiring diagram available for download.

Negative cable from battery is supposed to be grounded by connection at rear of engine.

There should be a lug on end of negative cable.
A bolt through the lug screws into the engine

Would assure integrity of this ground connection.

MMmmm.....tried spinning the wheel while on the centerstand to get it into higher gear but wont go past first it is one down four up right.....and thanks for the wiring diagram info.:blush:
