Would keep acetone off plastic or painted parts or wiring, and keep the dousing mostly on metal parts.

Later will come the Amoral on wiring and soft parts, and perhaps some careful pressure washing. Then diy soda blasting on engine.

Thinking primary objective will be to first see if the engine will turn over, after extended soak inside cylinders.

Wanting to avoid doing any damage from forceful disassembly of parts or efforts to rotate the crank. Pistons/rings may be rusted to cylinder walls.

Other members will have better suggestions. :cheer:

Good Fortune! :)

not a bad deal at all man, i would have done it in a heartbeat.

I would pour a good squirt of straight motor oil down the plug holes and let it sit for a night, two stroke oil works good too. and PB blaster or Kroil around the plugs before you take em out. aluminum and steel dont like eachother after a while. just to warn ya.

Some motivated shop time here and there and your cruisin! compression, spark, fuel, fluids, the usual things.

BTW, im down here im Bellingham washihgton, border town to BC, gooood buds!

keep us posted man.

if you open your picture in paint. you go to strech and skew and you can reduce the size that way.

Those are great bikes.

I have been working on one that looked almost that ratty, for a very long time.

The thing is if you want to recreate a bike, the steps are pretty much the same no matter what the cosmeyic condition is. You always paint the frame and body parts.

The engine well with 2000 niles you may just need to disassemble clean and reassemble.

There is a real interesting project post for engine coating kzrider.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&...w&catid=11&id=191240

Then there is the polish route:
