1977 KraZy 900

Hello folks,

I bought my first old Kaw a few months ago, '77 KZ900. I rode it home, and it ran good. I've got it torn down now.

I'm not a good wrench, but wanna learn, and this is the bike that is gonna make it happen.

This is the pic off of craigslist. The previous owner took it. The front fender is purple now. I have her torn apart now...and I don't know what the heck I'm doing.:) The learning process should be quite a gratifying adventure. I'll learn how to put stuff back together after I take it apart someday.

Glad to be a part.

John

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat. Stay out of the projects forum. Seeing what some of these guys can do makes you want to do stupid things to your bike.

Good luck with yours, I think it looks pretty good also.

Holy cow, you tear down a beautiful KZ900 to learn how to work on bikes? I thought that's what they make Suzukis, Hondas, and Yamahas for. Good luck, I hope you get it back together. Ed

That is a beauty bike, but in 1977 they made the KZ1000. Yours is most likely a 76' or earlier 900.

I know the 77 was the first year for the 1000, but I thought Kaw continued to make the 900 as well.
