Hello,
I have a 1975 Z1-B in process of bringing back to life. Its been sitting in the garage for 10 years. I have been ordering electrical & carburetor parts on-line. Does anyone know anything about Americanclassix.com?
Thanks,
Jack

Yup.

I have ordered from them and have had no issues. Others were less fortunate. You might try www.Z1Enterprises.com as the vast majority of us on KZR order through them. Prices are competitive or better than most. Shipping times are absolutely awesome.

I ordered a bunch of electrical components from Z1 Enterprises. Expecting them tomorrow! I agree they are great to work with from what I have seen.

Then I realized I also needed some carburetor items so I saw AmericanClassics is in California. Since I am in Arizona I figured it would be convenient. I am not having any luck contacting them. Haven't answered my email or voice messages. Just wondering if they are reputable. Anyone else have info on them?

Thanks, Jack

Well, you have encountered a problem that many others have previously suffered. The fellow who runs Americanclassix is named Axel and he has a reputation for poor communication...and I'm not clear why that it. He is a reputable dealer, just not a timely dealer.

Sweet! Got it running today without the carburetor parts. Couldn't wait any longer. As a result I have a gasoline leak. You know where the fuel line goes into both carbs via the "T" fitting. Oh well I will tear it apart and fix it when the parts come in. Just couldn't wait any longer. You know the feeling? Hadn't rode the bike since 1999. Discovering this web site is what got me fired up to get her back on the road. Cool site. Thanks all.

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 74 z1, i know the feeling you are talking about. I remember the 1st time i got mine to start i had a grin on my face for days. As far as the leak goes, are they new fuel lines? If not i would replace them a.s.a.p. When you get the new lines make sure you also get the little spring clamps to hold the line tight on the t fitting.

A new fuel pipe from Z1E resolved the leak for me.

Acceptable results have also been reported by tightening the fitment by wrapping with teflon tape. The yellow teflon tape is supposedly more fuel resistant than the white version.

Good Luck! :)

"Americanclassix.com"

I have ordered several pieces from them with no problems what so ever.

One thing for sure, the machined components are TOP quality mostly from Germany.

The offset 630 and now 530 sprockets are exceptional craftsmanship and not really any more expensive than anywhere else I found.

The plastic side covers, they offer two qualities... cheap with mounting hardware or expensive... Obviously not cutting corners I went with the expensive (supported pin & grommet) and they are tight...

All in all, I have read where others had issues but I have not... Ship fast and quality has been very good on the pieces I purchased from them.

They do sell quality parts but the customer service sucks donkey balls. Why even have a way to ask a question if your not going to answer it?
