Hi from Bergen, Norway =)
17 Aug 2008 13:15
Been a member on kawasakimotorcycle.org forum for a while and got directed here for more custom work on the KZs we all love so much.
my name is Hans, 32 years old.
I own a 1981 KZ 650 SR in very poor condition. I rescued it from my uncles deadly grasp and only waiting for snow to fall so i can give it the much needed tender loving care it deserves.. no way i can dismantle it all the while there is dry tarmac outside![:) :)](/media/kunena/emoticons/8.png)
i will post some pictures of the old bird after ive taken it for a spin ... kids just went to bed so now i need an hour of meditation around town

This is a good website for all models of KZ's. The most popular modifications are to remove the stock ignition points and associated wiring and replace them with the ones from Dynatek
www.dynaonline.com
and the correct coils.
The other modification can be found at "wired George's" website www.wgcarbs.com many people have done his relay modification on 440's,550's,650's,750's,900',1000's,and 1100's
This modification bypasses the power dropping problems older wiring harnesses have by giving the ignition coils the 12 volts they need. For a little under $10 USD it will transform the old poor running bike to better than new.
It reduces the chance of sooty black sparkplugs and improves gas economy by cleaner burning.
