I've been in IT for an aviation software company for the last 18 years. Get to do a little bit of everything: programming, database administration, Unix adminstration, networking support and customer support as well. I have been home based for the last 3 years. I go into the office which is two hours away every couple of weeks. Did the 4 hour round trip commute for 2 years before I going to a home based setup. Strangely enough, I still don't get enough free time to do what I want around the house (like working on the bike ;) )

I'll start it off...
I'm an engineer working in a little aerospace company in Sothern California. I'm the company's Quality Manager and I also work for the FAA, certifying parts for airplanes.

Next?

...wow! Sounds like we do about the same thing, except I do it for a toy company. I'm the Operations/Quality Control Manager for the McFarlane Toys Company. We make very life like and accurate Sports, Movie, Video Games, Music and other types of Action Figures.

...I was just in Hong Kong and China going over some future lines with the factory. Making sure we get what we want out of the process. Some of the things I worked on there were future HALO figures for the the next HALO game, HALO 4. Also, some upcoming figures for the Walking Dead TV series. Pretty fun stuff, but when you're responsible for production, it's still work.

...here's some of what we do. :)

Opened a pawnshop out of all things with my father after GM vehicle assembly plant that I worked at got shut down in late late 2008 and my father was forced into retirement from another local GM plant getting closed. Not exactly my idea of a fantastic thing to do,dealing with stupid asses every day gets under my skin, but it's probably the best for me at this point. During the night,im usually messing with somebodies vehicle, building a motor,or doing detail work, anything to keep me busy.
