Keeping paint out of emblem holes was created by sf4t7
About to paint my Z1 tank, used some screws to keep paint out of threads.  The threads are 3mm x 0.5 pitch. (I'm sure I'm not the first to do this)

Yep! That's the usual way or some pointed matchsticks or tiny roll of paper.

Factory had a small maybe 6mm by 6mm piece of tape masking the holes.
