Kz1100 Fuel tank leak from side

Chris,
Depending on how many coats of clear you put on the tank, you could color sand the clear to mirror flatness.
But you need to have enough thickness in the clear.
It pretty easy just be patient with the process.
I've posted this before, but I'll post it again as it shows the process done by hand.
If you know the process, you can make a $100 paint job look much more expensive.
It's just very labor intensive.

New New Update:   I never did find a solution to this long term. Every filler and patch that I tried, ended up peeling off (yes, even after following the instructions exactly.) 
The gas tank holes are just too big, I think. They are not really pin holes. 

I've sanded this down and replaced the patch 4 times now. Enough. 

I am looking for a replacement tank now:-./ 

YES ....finding another tank would be the best way to go, that model should be reasonably priced compared to a Z1

To install the Yamaha XJR400 fuel tank, you will need to weld 2 pieces of 25mm pipe to the frame.
The original tank attachment protrusions do not need to be removed.


 

Rubber damper 35-38 мм.



Weld the stud. Which makes it possible to fix the fuel tank in the hole near the seat.


Unfortunately, I have no idea how the XJR fuel tank will pair with the original KAWASAKI seat.
