Finally have a little blast cabinet set up with some glass bead. It is totally addictive.

Is this operator error or is the aluminum just porous? I can't remember what size glass bead I think it was 80 grit. Is it too aggressive or did I leave it on there too long?

It's the aluminum. Some parts just don't clean up uniform. You can sometimes improve the situation with more blast time and/or more pressure but that's no guarantee.

Corrosion pitting and casting marks.
Nothing abnormal.
Polishing would remove most or all of that depending on how far you wanted to go.
