Bad day for my bike. It rode the 3 blocks home ok but I will need a few parts before I ride it again. :( handlebar is bent and head light is shifted.

Ya, I am glad it happened at low speed. It was about 1.5" deep of excess gravel from resurfacing the street. Does anyone have a stock bar for an 82 kz550 Ltd?? Or a good source for one? I was going to show a picture but having trouble posting it. Hopefully this works.

I've bent MX handlebars back clamping where the riser mounts in a vice and slipping a pipe over the grip section. You might be able to do it on the bike but it's easier to see if they are straight in a vice.

Only time I dropped the bike was taking a 2 mph left and it slipped out from me on gravel...... didn't hurt anything but a torn hand grip and a hardly noticable scratch on the front fender and dyno cover some how..... tore up both my palms pretty bad (maybe 3 or 4 dime sized places down to the meat) but went ahead and drove to a drag strip a little over a hundred miles anyway (was half way).......

Truly on the way home I thought I was gonna die....... cussed myself for not not returning home for 2 + hours ......... stopped and got some peroxide and band aids and it helped for a little while but then would come back..... had to hold the grips with my 1st finger and thumb to keep the palms from touching..... I usually ride with leather gloves now but like a dummy not that day.

Wow! Why do you hang it from the ceiling?

I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.
