Repair Small Dent in Kerker Header Pipe was created by Vintage3
Hi,
Does anyone know what the best hi-temp filler sandable product is (same effect as bondo) to deal with this ding in my header? Picture is attached. Once repaired it will be repainted. I checked paintless dent repair and they cannot fix it.

Thanks,

The dent looks pretty shallow. Your best bet may be to have someone who does brazing fill the dent. Then you can file it to the correct shape and paint it. Brazing has a high melting point, so the header shouldn't get so hot as to melt it off. The guy doing the brazing can tell you the melting point of the rod he's using. Ed

Sometimes muffler shops can fix it, if they can get to it with a muffler pipe expander

Is it worth it. The dent is almost un-detectable

If you're going to fix it I'd try Leon's suggestion first. You can do this at home.

Thanks for suggestions. Any ideas how hot this side of the pipe gets? What about a high heat jb weld or higher temp filler product? Recognize brasing likely the best way to go if I fix it.
