Thanks Ed!

That does help a bunch. I don't know what sort of seat pan I have, but it is certainly for a 650. Generally fits too well, to not be at lease for SOME model or other. It does look like the gaps at certain points are bigger than those on your stock seat, but I may just have to live with it for now.

This is my first time making a new/customized seat with what will hopefully be more supportive foam, and it is a research/learning project. I don't necessarily need a new seat, but I think I can improve on what is there. I think for the moment I will use the spare pan I have, gaps and all, and see if I can't just fudge things a little during the process to get better fitment. I will at least hopefully end up with a seat that looks better than the one that came with my bike, and fits nicely. If in time I can find a proper B/C style seat pan in decent shape, then I will at least have some experience with moulding and recovering one.

Rest assured I will come back to these as reference while working on it!

Ed that bikes looks amazing, I really like the colour and subtle graphics... is that original paint?

It does look like the gaps at certain points are bigger than those on your stock seat, but I may just have to live with it for now.

OP be really fussy on your seat, it is the focal point of your bike. Be wary of motorcycle seat makers who say they can do a job to exact oem standard but often can't.

Gone through 5 seats on my 1000R, even got one custom made, seen some 'replicas' but they are never just right. I think making a one off without the bike to fit or oem part to copy is hit and miss.
