You can't fool us; that's not the same bike you started with! No kidding, it's great to see another KZ disaster brought back into beautful condition. Nice job! Ed

Thanks, but it's far from beautiful. Go a lot of cleaning and repainting of bolt on parts and the frame.
Unfortunately I won't get to ride it this year. Next year, we ride. It's been so long since I've owned a streetbike,,,, like 18 years,,,, kids are grown,,, heh

awesome job! mine's not quite that nice (understatement) but as my first post I figured I'd show her off a little. It was my first bike, I've been through a few since-- but she's still in the stable. I bought it for $600.00 and it's probably not worth much more now, but I wouldn't sell her for ten times that!!

thanx!
she does, however, photograph better than she is;) I've been hanging out with the "Harley crowd" a little too much lately, so I tend to forget how much I've actually done to her. When I got her, she was "blurple" with those gorgeous brown and yellow pinstripes and had been sitting for about six years in the P.O.'s backyard. I figured if I was gonna learn to ride, I should start with an ugly piece of poop and not worry about boogering it up. One thing led to another and there you have the culmination of little more than elbow grease and a little help from EBay (replaced seat and forks with originals)

I know what you mean. I've had this bike six or seven years and have never ridden it. I bought it for $500 an you can see why in the first pic. I had a 1981 GPz 550 when I was just out of high school. I wish I'd kept it, but I still see it around now and then since I live in a small town.

Keep workin it, we have all winter.
