Tarozzi (or other) Fork Brace for 1979 KZ400?

i've found that the fork tube O.D., fork lower O.D. and centerline distance measurements for Tarozzi 23-0026 and 23-0031 match my 1979 KZ400 forks, even tough the braces are for the 81/82 KZ400 and 82/83 KZ440 bikes respectively.  nothing in the catalog for my bike.  am going to call Tarozzi and see what the differences are between the 0026 and 0031 braces, and wondering if anyone here as found a brace to fit my bike?  not sure i want the $114 fitment gamble.  tx

i've looked at part diagrams for my '79 kz400b and an '81 kz400 and found that they share dust shields and fenders.  since the shields the same, it would appear that the brace clamping method should work, and since the fenders are the same it seems the brace arch height should work also.  the 82/83 fenders are different than mine, so brace 23-0031 is out.

in summary:  fork tube diameter, fork lower diameter, fork tube centerline distance, machining for the fork lowers where the dust shields mount, and fender design are a match between my '79 and the brace listed for the 81/82 kz400 models.  

so it looks like the 23-0026 brace is worth the 20% re-stocking fee gamble.

Also, have you checked KZ400.com? 

yup, that's the chart i've been scanning.  i got all the dimensional data i need for my purposes there. nothing found on the kz400 site.

No disrespect, but are you going to ride your 400 hard enough to justify a brace?

nope, thought it would be a good selling point this spring.  i don't have that much into the build, so i thought it might make financial sense.
