The distance between the seal and the top of the locking tabs might also be important.

By Nerdy: Right, so I was able to find the key *and* the calipers to take some measurements, so here we go.

overall diameter = 71mm

the black O-ring and the metal bit under it = 55mm

the round piece that goes into the tank - the outcropping at the 12:00 position = 34.5mm (C)

the round piece that goes into the tank + the outcropping = 38mm (D)

the two locking pieces when they're out = 41.5mm (E)

the central piece stamped 'Made in Japan' = 26mm (F) ...


Thanks for the measurements. Does this pic look right?
