Suggest bench testing ohms on the coil primary and secondary before you put the old ones back on

Great idea love it...but...

So in all my great wisdom I was eye balling the diagram from partzilla... I noticed that there was a little ball in the float bowl and started thinking about the vacuum and accelerator pump. So if I understand thi correctly the vacuum increases in #2 and that in turn "picks up" the ball allows fuel to enter the pump area to shoot out.

Well I decided to make sure the ball was there.. and the damn clip shot across my damn garage into the worst place possible... soooo yeah. Balls there btw....

Hope everyone had a good 4th!

Any suggestions while I have the carbs out?

I also got new plugs because why not.

I did a thing over the weekend. My neighbor had a 80 KZ750 that has been in his backyard for a few years now and I bought it

Doesn't seem to have spark but I'm getting power to the coils. That's a whole other bag of worms I'll tackle later hahaha. First this KZ650!

By the time you get the 650 sorted you will have all knowledge you need to sort out the non-start 750

Hahaha I'm hoping! Not to stear this thread in another direction. I ordered a manual for the 750 but it won't come in till the 14th. Blah. I'm suspicious of this IC Igniter gizmo. Not sure how to test it.

As for the 650 I guess I'm going to just put the carb back on and idk see if any KZ fairys blessed the bike over the weekend and she will just start pulling again. I'll try putting one (the one I know works) of the dyna coils back on to see if it hits any different.

Alright some developments...

So I was looking at the carb diagram from partzilla and noticed that I didn't have one of the springs for the accelerator pump. Strangely I found it in my box of jets. Now I have only taken that part off 3 times. I'm assuming that maybe I dropped it and didn't notice and like days later found it and just threw it in my box of carb stuff I have collected over the years. Idk. Glad I found it.

So I noticed that it was running better with the screw only 1/2 out. So I just started looking for air leaks. Found 2Foone was coming from the vacuum gauge I have hooked up. So I just removed that completely and capped the carb off (not the bowl vents). Also another leak coming from the vacuum valve at the front of the engine. Not sure what it's called. Carb #1 and #4 go to a T and it goes up to the brass unit. That Uni has like 3 large hoses coming off of it. 2 to cam cover and one back to the air box. So I just pulled that line and capped #1 and #4 off also. Runs better.

It doesn't like the air screws any more or less an 1 turn out. So no 1/2 turn and no 1 1/2turn. It just struggles and dies out.

Also it has gotten better at the start but it just doesn't want to move till it's almost at 3k rpm. Also if I just give it full throttle I really don't get anything. It kind pulls back a little.

Also new spark plugs. 1 and 4 looked a little blackish while 2 and 3 looked pretty normal.
