KZ440 handlebar switches

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationAnybody have experience with these new switch assemblies?  Plug & play?

Maybe someone else will chime in.  If the controls & wire colors are the same, it's probably at least pretty close to plug-n-play.  but until you get a definitive answer, I wouldn't assume anything. wishy washy answer. ha ha.

Yup; I've bought several things from IbuyIsell (as seen on your pic of the Ebay page) and that switch is one of them. It does indeed plug right in, even the spade connector and bullet  - I just put one on my '79 KZ400H yesterday - and while I'll have to check the wiring 'colors', it's a very nice switch and almost identical to the OEM one. Well worth it.

Nice!  That is good to hear...my left switch isn't too bad but my right side looks like crap.

I’ve used them on several bikes. Not quite OEM quality but very good value for the money

My left switch almost looked like a geode inside:


I've actually rebuilt switches that looked like this when they were hard to find, like in my '68 Puch 250, but with more modern bikes like this KZ400 H I'll just replace them. They look better too!

(ProTip): A company called Damineding has some really good stuff and prices for carbs, too. I've put several of their carb kits in my Goldwings, Dreams and other bikes with no problems at all, they even have the right jet sizes; they sell on Ebay and through their website:  Damineding Moto,

And this guy here is in England, but has carb diaphragms for a lot of classic bikes:  www.carburetordiaphragms.com/
I paid $60 for two diaphragms for the KZ400 H, and the website has tutorials for how to replace them without breaking the plastic retaining rings. 

I'm just trying to help; parts for these bikes can be a real pita to find.

Appreciate this very much...anytime stuff for these aging bikes can be found is a good thing!

Got the switch yesterday, plugged everything in & the only thing that worked was the horn.  Found something else yesterday looking for a replacement tach...lots of them on ebay but I only saw 1 or 2 with the oil light & brake light on them.  Just about every one of them showed the HB indicator light & brake light but they all said they were for a range of bikes that included the 81 KZ440.  I know there are several different submodels of the KZ440 but do they change things up with the switch gear between them?  

EDIT:  I've got the turn signal cancelling option on my switch...guessing this is why the turn signals don't function but the headlight doesn't toggle between low/high beam either.  Well my stock part works fine, just wanted to clean it up a bit.  Is there any reason why the right side assembly shouldn't work?

What is the "HB" ?? Is that the bike model...? (B, C, H?)   Horn Button?

I don't know; I've never had a problem with those newer switches - maybe it's in your wires? Have you checked the continuity?  I'm thinking if the horn button works, you've got power to the switch but it's somehow not getting to the rest of the bike - and with a new switch that says 'wiring' to me. Connections could be corroded...?

I believe in this case it means "high beam". (He mentioned the "HB indicator light".)

Nerdy's right...HB=High beam.  Can't be the wiring, stock switch works fine.
