LED Headlights? was created by Flatblackobsession
I discovered last night that the high beam on my headlight (1978 KZ1000 LTD) has gone out. So, I need to replace the bulb-- but I was thinking I should use the opportunity to upgrade to something brighter than the old 1978 headlight.

I was thinking that some kind of two part (reflector body, plus replaceable LED light) that would bolt into the original bucket/ring might be ideal.

Can anyone recommend a good LED replacement that would go in the stock bucket/ring?

What LED headlight solutions you all riding with?

Thanks.

I have replace my head light with an Highsider Type 3 LED main head light insert. It´s plug and play, no mods needed to fit into the Z1 head light frame.

You may want to watch this guy's videos. He gives pretty good ideas to consider. Ed

Also adding more running lighting to the rear. I upgrade to all led red bulbs. Found red lenses that fit LTD front dual element housings. Reworked the wiring harness to add running light from the rear light. I wish it could’ve been red running and Amber turn but I’ll take anything over just the center rear tail light. I’m really worried with today’s drivers about getting rear ended

Did you have to modify anything to fit this light ? I went on the Adjure web site and it says it doesnt fit most metric bikes .
I have had my eye on one of these for quite a while

The reflector will fit the head light Frame but will give you a big Problem with the head light housing depth, no space left over for the wiring loom and connectors !!!

You might want to look for a different bulb, all my wires fit just like stock.
